PASSION FOR MAPS

Passion for Maps, LLC (“PFM”) was formed in March, 2004. PFM has exclusive licensing rights to one of the finest private collections of rare world maps and world atlases from the 15th to the 18th centuries. Included are works from the great cartographers such as Johanne Blaeu, Abraham Ortelius, Andreas Cellarius, Vicenzo Coronelli, Martin Waldseemuller, Laurent Frisius, Hartmann Schedel, Lorenz Fries, Nicholas Visscher, Jodocus Hondius, Donnus Nicolaus Germanus and others. Over a 25 year period, each piece was carefully chosen for its cartographic significance, aesthetic beauty and rarity. Together, they reflect the emerging understanding of our world during the Age of Discovery. We encourage you to explore our world maps and share our Passion for Maps.

Our Store

Additionally, PFM has designed a number of high quality products with images of our world maps and world atlases from its collection including: framed reproductions, posters and note cards. These items are available at our Online Store. Other products such as silk scarves, fine tableware and placemats will be arriving shortly.

Technology

Utilizing state-of-the-art photographic and computer technologies for displaying our world maps and world atlases, the collection is being converted into digital images. These images are presented on the PFM website for academic access. The digitalization project may take several years to complete.

Higher resolution digital images are also available under licensing arrangements tailored to specific needs.
